In her human form, she goes by Serena, but she is really a phoenix. The immortal bird is imbued with fire magic and when she dies, her ashes will regenerate into a new egg that will hatch and give birth to a new phoenix. Throughout her many lives, the Phoenix retains all her memories.
In her hawk form, the Phoenix has a wingspan of thirty feet and its feathers are aflame. While it flies, it trails embers. In air, few creatures can match a phoenix’s speed, dexterity, and tenacity. With a sharp beak for ripping and razor-sharp talons, even dragons are wary of a pissed off phoenix.
In her human form, Serena appears a little off. Her neck, arms, and legs are slightly longer than a human. Her long vibrant red hair will light aflame if Serena becomes angry or overly emotional. At the same time, fire will dance in her eyes.
Once a Ywaigwai that served Seraph, Goddess of Love, Serena was re-tasked with stopping Defurge, the God of Fire and Madness. Because of her immunity to fire and immortality, it was thought she would be able to handle the task, and for a while she was successful. Eventually though, Serena found herself trapped within the Soul Gem unable to escape, unable to die. Despite her eternal imprisonment, Serena has managed to maintain her sanity. Only two others have been able to likewise stay sane inside the Soul Gem.
